A minha história 

           Comecei a minha actividade na rádio nos anos 70. Como quase todas as estações de rádio CB, o meu primeiro equipamento tinha apenas 40 canais em AM e a minha primeira antena foi autoconstruída. A CB daqueles dias fervilhava de estações durante o dia e a noite, oferecendo aos utilizadores grandes momentos de convívio e aprendizagem, bem como alguns serviços públicos que partilhavam a banda, como os Bombeiros, Táxis e até a Policia de Segurança Pública. Destacaria os anos 70 e 80 como o período áureo da CB em Portugal.

Em 1980, e já na posse dum equipamento com SSB, comecei a minha actividade de entusiasta do DX. A propagação era fantástica nos anos 80 e proporcionava contactos de grande qualidade a grande distância, tornando assim possível coleccionar cartolinas QSL de muitas divisões.

Infelizmente, os anos 90 destruíram a banda. Os telemóveis e o surgimento da Internet ditaram o colapso anunciado. Os serviços públicos desapareceram, as famílias, os grupos e até amigos se perderam. A banda, despojada de utilizadores e valores, ficou entregue a alguns resistentes que nem sempre a valorizam, mas que com alguma teimosia mantêm acesa a esperança de melhores dias.

Com alguns anos de afastamento recente, aqui estou de novo para tentar dar mais um contributo à minha banda por excelência. Acredito que apesar dos atrasos legislativos e regulamentares desta banda no meu País, a CB possa de novo florescer de entusiastas e recuperar o seu espaço de direito no mundo das telecomunicações. De preferência e à semelhança de outros Países europeus…   …LIVRE.

          I started my activity in radio in the 70s. Like almost all CB radio stations, my first equipment had only 40 channels in AM and my first antenna was self-constructed. CB those days swarmed stations during the day and night, offering users great moments of conviviality and learning, as well as some public services that shared the band, as the fire department, taxis and even the Police Public Safety. Highlight the 70s and 80s as the golden period of CB in Portugal.

In 1980, and already in possession of a device with SSB, I started my DX enthusiast activity. The spread was fantastic in the 80s and provided contacts of great quality at a great distance, thus making it possible to collect QSL's cards from many divisions.

Unfortunately, the 90s destroyed the band. Mobile phones and the appearance of the Internet dictated the announced collapse. Public services have disappeared, families, groups and even friends lost. The band, stripped of users and values, was delivered to some tough that not always appreciate, but with some stubbornness keep alive the hope of better days.

With a few years of recent removal, here I am again to try to make a further contribution to my band par excellence. I believe that despite the legislative and regulatory delays of this band in my country, the CB can flourish again with enthusiasts and recover its rightful space in the world of telecommunications. Preferably, and like other European countries ... ... FREE.
